THESE ARE THE COLOUR TRENDS OF AUTUMN/WINTER 2020/21
Who hasn't experienced the following: as soon as the days get shorter, one can hardly wait to sit on the couch comfortably, snuggling up with a cosy blanket and a marshmallow-infused hot chocolate. Nevertheless, we are sure that this year's trend report will not allow winter dreariness to emerge in the first place! The Pantone Colour Institute has published the trend colours for the Autumn/ Winter 2020-2021 season – it is needless to say that those colours will enable us to keep our summer mood even with the cold months arising. While we happily enjoyed quiet pastel shades in spring, the winter season brings dazzling colours into our own four walls.
At the end of the year not only the leaves' colours change, but also the living trends display bright autumnal nuances from amplified red to an expansive orange shade and lively yellow-green. And if you actually want to have a winter cuddle, then only in a homely atmosphere decorated with it-pieces in off-white and night blue.
We would like to introduce the most important colour trends for Autumn/ Winter 2020-2021 to you, including the best ways to combine them:
COLOUR TRENDS AUTUMN/WINTER 2020/21: BORDEAUX RED AND ORANGE
We just cannot get enough of “Exuberance”, “Samba” and “Burnt Henna”! These high energy tones are reflecting the desire for an expressive colour palette and are our favorite eye-catchers this winter.
HOW TO STYLE THE BORDEAUX RED AND ORANGE TONES?
While the overall-red trend performs well on the world's catwalks, it might be a little too extreme for home furnishings. That's why we love highlight-pieces in bright red or orange for our homes. And if you feel like adding some really vibrant colours, combine the fiery red "Samba" shade with a deep orange. That is the ideal way to give your home the ultimate statement look.
These colours work especially well in rooms where comfort is a priority, such as bedrooms or living rooms. Our pro tip: shaggy rugs in warm nuances provide a double feel-good atmosphere. They do not only radiate warmth, but are also wonderfully cuddly and will keep you from getting cold feet this winter.
And for those who think that bright tones are too much, bordeaux definitely delivers! This trendy nuance turns out a little more muted and can be combined more thankfully. As an eye-catcher it does not only match basics such as black or white, but can also be stylishly merged with other red shades.

COLOUR TRENDS AUTUMN/WINTER 2020/21: GREEN AND YELLOW GREEN
When the rainy autumn days get too much, fetch spring back into your home! We are admirers of the warm green tone "Military Olive" and the botanical yellow shade "Celery", which both make your room shine equally.
HOW TO STYLE THE GREEN AND YELLOW TONES?
Warm khaki shades have been capable of more than just outdoor fashion for quite some time. As trend colours they also fit extremely well in your interior. Olive green harmonizes nicely with decorative highlights in other noble colours such as taupe or copper. But you also don't have to shy away from combining them with strong colours! Subdued green blends easily and trendy into your furnishing style. On the other hand "Celery" as a lively yellow-green, really starts to shine in combination with grey, black or brown!
We are of the opinion that an arrangement with shabby or vintage elements can be particularly harmonious when it comes to green and yellow-green shades. However, the trend colours also add a remarkable finishing touch to modern and classically furnished rooms and thus become the center of your interior design. And for that particular glamorous touch, shimmering rugs made of silky soft viscose provide that special something.

COLOUR TRENDS AUTUMN/WINTER 2020/21: OFF-WHITE AND BLUE
Sometimes it doesn't take much to make a big entrance. This winter we can either focus on colourful highlights or carelessly use well-established classics. "Dress Blues" and "Jet Stream" are the perfect timeless but trendy basics for all of your interior dreams!
HOW TO STYLE THE OFF-WHITE AND BLUE TONES?
If you think white is a boring colour, you have not yet made the acquaintance of "Jet Stream"! We are fans of this refracted off-white tone, which is less harsh than pure white and therefore especially nice to combine. Whether in duet with other neutrals or in contrast to bright trend colours – white is and always will be a combinable all-rounder. But this season allows us to emphasize the fact that a combination is not always the only solution!
The trendy white shades also work particularly well in all-over looks. Cushions, furs, poufs – in short, all kinds of textiles. It's hard to overload this subtle style with its various nuances. And it simply always matches: whether in a kids room, in front of your bed or in the living room. Anyhow this winter white does not only captivate in the form of rugs. This trend colour can be just as impressive in the shape of stylish home accessories.
Another classic also made it among the trend colours this year: a saturated night blue. "Dress Blues" is also extremely easy to combine and this winter it is particularly suitable with shades of black, dark bordeaux or grey.
The opulent blue tone also integrates wonderfully into the Art Deco style of living, which was one of the great interior highlights of 2020. And with its rather mundane look, it blends in perfectly with the chill of the cold season. Bear in mind: blue is also very much in line to become the trend colour 2021!
